The Bad Moon is a perplexing cosmic phenomenon that defies explanation. Even the wisest of grot-kind and the most learned Azyrite astrologers struggle to understand its origins and purpose. One thing is certain, though: wherever it goes, madness follows. The Gloomspite Gitz fervently follow the Bad Moon, committing acts of destruction and cruelty in hopes of catching the attention of their god. It is believed that those who manage to amuse the Bad Moon are rewarded with great power, and they might even gain entry to the Everdank—an honor that fuels the constant squabbles among the Moonclans.
Despite the immense power it bestows, the Bad Moon is not unchallenged. It faces constant opposition from Glareface Frazzlegit, the personification of Hysh’s intense light. The Gloomspite Gitz, who are naturally drawn to darkness, are especially averse to the intense glare of this solar force. However, there is an exception—Gitmobs from Hysh, who have developed a unique relationship with the light, embrace it in their own way.
The Gloomspite Gitz and Their Relationship with Glareface Frazzlegit
The Gitmobs, despite their usual love for shadow, view Glareface Frazzlegit not as a rival to the Bad Moon, but as a celestial bully—an overbearing force that constantly chases the Bad Moon across the sky. These Gitmobs wreak havoc across the Mortal Realms in pursuit of Frazzlegit, destroying anything that stands in their way. In doing so, they emulate the aggressive nature of their solar foe. Frazzlegit Shamans have even harnessed its powerful glare, using the radiant energy to enhance their weapons. This results in explosive bursts of blinding light and searing heat, turning their enemies’ weapons against them with devastating force.
Battles with the Lumineth and Stormcast Eternals
The Gloomspite Gitz often clash with the Lumineth Realm-lords, whose sunmetal weapons are perfect for the Gitmobs’ needs. The Lumineth’s mastery of light magic creates an intriguing tension between the two factions. Additionally, the Stormcast Eternals are despised by the Gloomspite Gitz because their divine armor returns to Azyr upon their death, preventing the grots from claiming it as their prize.
The Gloomspite Gitz hope that by wielding these light-infused weapons, they might be able to harness enough of Hysh’s power to extinguish the light entirely, allowing the Bad Moon to dominate the skies without opposition. This ambition threatens even the Realm of Life, as the impending Everdank could consume everything in its path.
